Greetings from Terry Pon!
As a truly blessed educator, I have had many wonderful and varied experiences.
I entered teaching as a secondary Core French teacher, and continued on as a French Immersion Middle Years classroom teacher for five years. Following that, I switched over to English Middle Years/Technology Integration/Core French for a couple more years. After five years as an elementary school teacher-librarian, I currently serve as a Teacher-Librarian at Campbell Collegiate, the largest high school in Regina.
Provincially, I have served Saskatchewan Learning as a piloting teacher of the 1995 Math curriculum and as an on-air host of the 1998 Speaking and Listening Assessment. I recently served as a member of the School Library Review Committee.
I am a proud member of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, and have served as an executive member of the Regina Public School Teachers’ Association.
In 2002, I completed my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Regina. In 2005, I finished my M. Ed. in Teacher-Librarianship from the University of Alberta. My capping paper on teacher-librarian personal and professional growth models was published in School Libraries in Canada.
PONderings is a forum to reflect on 21st century teaching and learning. Thank you for spending some time in my blog.
